SEO, AEO and GEO

Get found on Google. Get named by AI.

Search engine optimization gets you onto Google’s results. Answer engine optimization gets you into the direct answers above them. Generative engine optimization gets you named inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI. For a contractor they’re one job — so we run them as one.

Three names, one job

The acronyms, decoded.

SEO

Search engine optimization

Gets your pages into Google’s results — and your listing into the map.

  • A page for every service and every town
  • Your Google listing cleaned up and kept working
  • Search Console set up, watched monthly

AEO

Answer engine optimization

Gets your business into the direct answer — the box above the links, or what Siri reads aloud.

  • Clear questions with clear answers on your pages
  • Structured data that labels your business details
  • Accurate listings on Google, Bing and Apple Maps

GEO

Generative engine optimization

Gets you named inside AI-written answers — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews.

  • Your site says what you do, where, and why you’re credible
  • The same facts everywhere AI tools read
  • A monthly check of whether they name you

Where AI looks

An AI answer is only as good as what it can read about you.

When someone asks “who’s a good roofer near me?”, the AI reads the same places a careful customer would — then names whoever it can describe with confidence. When those sources agree, that can be you.

  • Your websiteservices, towns, license, hours
  • Google Business Profilecategories, photos, reviews
  • Bing Placeswhat ChatGPT’s search leans on
  • Apple Mapswhere Siri looks
  • Reviewswhat customers say about you
  • Directories & mentionseverywhere else you’re named

AI answer
“For roof repairs near you, Your Company is a strong option — licensed, clear about the towns it covers, and well reviewed.”

The monthly AI check

We don’t guess whether AI names you. We check.

About ten questions your customers actually ask — fixed at the start so the trend means something — run every month in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI, several times each. For each one: were you named, was what the AI said about you right, and which sites did it cite.

The cited sites are the useful part: they show exactly where AI tools learn about businesses like yours — so that’s where we make sure you’re listed, and where wrong facts get fixed. Nobody can promise what an AI will say; the report shows what moved.

Compare plans

  • Your Google listing, managed. Categories, services, service area and hours kept right — the settings that decide which searches you show up for — plus real job photos and a reply to every review.
  • Reviews after every job. Automatic review requests through your job software or ours. Every customer gets asked. Nobody gets paid for it, and nobody gets filtered out.
  • A page that earns its place, every month. A service page or a finished-job write-up, picked from real search data. No copy-paste city pages.
  • Listed right everywhere AI looks. Bing, Apple Maps and the directories that matter in your trade, all saying the same thing.
  • The monthly AI check. The questions your customers ask, run in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI: are you named, is what they say about you right, and which sites do they trust. Wrong facts get fixed at the source.
  • Your map ranking, measured. Where you show up on the Google map for your money searches across your service area — and how your reviews stack up against the top three competitors.
  • Your site, looked after. Hosting, security, backups and uptime, plus a conversion fix every quarter based on where visitors drop off. Email me a change and I make it.
  • A 30-minute call every month. Your calls, leads, reviews, map ranking and AI results, walked through in plain English — and what we do next.

What we never do

The rules we don’t bend.

No ranking promises.

Not a map position, not a page-one date, not an AI answer. We promise the work and the report.

No buying reviews.

We never offer anything for a review and never pick who gets asked. Google prohibits both, and it can get a listing suspended.

No holding your listing hostage.

Manager access only — the profile stays yours, and we never need your password.

No surprise changes.

One listing change at a time, written down — category and service-area edits can trigger re-verification.

Search questions

SEO, AEO and GEO, answered.

What is GEO (generative engine optimization)?

GEO is the work of getting your business named inside AI-generated answers — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Those tools answer a question like “who’s a good roofer near me?” by reading the web and summarizing it. GEO makes sure what they read about you is complete, consistent and easy to quote: your site states plainly what you do, where you do it and why you’re credible; your listings agree with it everywhere; and real reviews back it up.

What is AEO (answer engine optimization)?

AEO is structuring your content so search engines and voice assistants can lift a direct answer from it — the short answer that appears before any links, or that Siri reads out loud.

In practice it means clear questions with clear answers on your pages, structured data that labels your business details, and accurate listings on Google, Bing and Apple Maps.

How are SEO, AEO and GEO different?

SEO gets your pages into Google’s search results. AEO gets your business into the direct answers above them. GEO gets you named inside AI-written answers.

For a contractor they’re one body of work — the same site, the same listings, the same reviews — so AxisSites runs them as one service instead of selling three.

How do I get my business to show up in ChatGPT?

Make it easy for ChatGPT to find, read and trust you: a fast site that states your services, service area and credentials in plain words; a complete Bing Places listing, because ChatGPT’s search leans on Bing; and consistent details and real reviews across the web.

Nobody can guarantee what an AI will say. What we can do is build what it reads — then check every month, with a fixed list of the questions your customers ask, whether it names you.

Where do AI tools get their information about local businesses?

From the same places a careful customer would look: your own website, your Google Business Profile, Bing Places and Apple Maps, review sites and directories, and anywhere else your business is mentioned.

When those sources agree — same name, phone, services and towns — AI tools can describe you with confidence. When they disagree or are empty, they tend to name someone else.

How do you measure AI visibility?

With a fixed list of about ten questions your customers actually ask — “best concrete contractor in Palmetto FL,” for example — run every month in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers, several times each, because answers vary.

For each one we record whether you were named, whether what the AI said about you was right, and which sites it cited. The list stays fixed, so the trend means something — and wrong facts get traced to their source and fixed.

Can you guarantee I’ll rank first on Google or show up in AI answers?

No — and be careful with anyone who does. Rankings and AI answers depend on things nobody controls, and they change by person, place and day.

We promise the work and the report: what we changed, what moved, and whether Google and the AI tools named you for the jobs you want.

How long until search work shows results?

It varies, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Fixes to a Google listing can show up within weeks; new service and town pages usually take months to earn their place.

Every month you get a plain-English report of what we changed and what moved, so you never have to take it on faith.

Do I need a website if I have a Google listing?

Yes. The listing is how people find you on the map; the website is where they decide to call — and it’s the page AI tools read to learn what you actually do.

The two do different jobs. Running one without the other is why so many contractors’ websites never bring in work.
